Janmashtami

The birth of Lord Krishna is celebrated all over India with much fervor as Janmashtami. At The Hillside Prep

our little ones came dressed as Radhas and Krishnas. They prayed to the Lord and sang songs in his praise. They then enacted a few scenes from the life of the young Krishna like butter churning, Uri hitting (உரியடி) and playing dandiya. Our children understood the true meaning behind the celebration as our Panditji enchanted the sklokas and shared stories from the life of the Lord.

Vidhyarambham

Vidyarambham is an integral part of our culture and tradition. On this day, we initiate the learning journey of our children.

To ensure that our children get an opportunity to be a part of this auspicious tradition, The Hillside Prep had organised the Vidyarambham ceremony at our campus. Parents initiated their child into the learning journey. It was a delight to watch the young Hillsiders write on the tray filled with rice. We offered prayers and sought blessings from Goddess Saraswati. As a family, we savoured the “Prasadam” served towards the end of the ceremony. In all, a big day for our little ones!

Diwali

The Festival of Lights is just around the corner so we, at The Hillside Prep, decided to celebrate it in a traditional way before going on the Diwali break.

We decorated our campus with rangoli, lit diyas and prayed to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha to seek their blessings. We also did our bit to save the environment by not bursting fire crackers and contributing to a “Green Diwali” in our own little way. Wishing all our well wishers a very happy Diwali!
